CN – Light-Signalling Devices - Simplification of China Vehicle Standards

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT) published a draft of national mandatory standard on Light-signaling devices and systems for motor vehicles and their trailers. This standard will replace all the current standards for vehicle light-signaling devices, and the enterprises thus need to pay close attention to the technical requirements in this standard.

In alignment with UN regulations concerning the integration direction of vehicle light-related standard has been launched the integration project of light-related standards, consolidating the current vehicle light-signaling and many other standards into three standards, namely, Road illumination devices and systems for motor vehicles, Light-signaling devices and systems for motor vehicles and their trailers, Retro-reflective devices and markings for motor vehicles. Formulation of these new standards are expected to be completed in 2022, and are accordingly predicted to be adopted by product certification around 2024.
