UK – United Kingdom's Regulatory Framework for Automated Vehicles – Review
United Kingdom is working on a review of the Regulatory framework for Automated Vehicles. The Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV) has asked the Law Commission of England and Wales and the Scottish Law Commission to undertake a far-reaching review of the legal framework for automated vehicles, and their use as part of public transport networks and on-demand passenger services.
This project is running from 2018 to 2021 and includes three rounds of consultation. Responses to the third consultation, launched in December 2020, have been analysed and a summary of responses and next steps, as well as a draft Impact Assessment and strategic economics report have just been published.
The final recommendations will be provided at the end of 2021
