R(EU) .../... - of XXX on type approval of motor vehicles with regard their Emergency Lane-Keeping System (ELKS)

It has been published a new version of the Draft Commission Implementing Regulation on type-approval of motor vehicles with regard their Emergency Lane-Keeping Systems (ELKS).

The implementing act is based on the existing UN R.130 (lane departure warning for trucks) and UN R.079 (corrective steering) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) already applied in the EU, as well as existing test protocols from Euro NCap.

It sets out the performance criteria and test procedures for the approval of motor vehicles with respect of their emergency lane keeping system.

This initiative provides the implementing measures for the approval of cars and vans with regard to their emergency lane keeping system in accordance with Article 7(6) of Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

It has to be adopted and published by April 2021.
